Interview: Mackwood's Marathon Swim

Technosport's Genevieve Mackwood swam the 17.5 mile Ederle swim in New York in 2011. In this article on the MSO web site, learn about:

  • her background as a swimmer and her focus on technique;
  • how she progressed from 1km open water swims up to this marathon event (it's not a race!) including what other events she swam and how she came up with a training plan;
  • what challenges she faced and how she met her fears head on;
  • what's next (she's going bigger!);
  • and a list of resources she found helpful.
Be inspired by her teammate Kerry Smith's full article here: http://www.mastersswimmingontario.ca/new1.htm
